Last month snowboarders and skiers from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, the US and Canada gathered at El Colorado Ski Center – a 40-minute ride away from Santiago – for the 10th edition of ‘Rey del Park’.
In Chile, ‘Rey del Park’ (translated “King of the Park”) is one of the most important and most anticipated snowboard events of the season. Some of the participants belong to the best of the world in this sport and everyone is eager to be crowned next ‘King of the park’. This year’s winner didn’t only walk away with the title, but also 8,000USD!
The competition started with the so-called Big Air, an exciting 14-ft jump that got the adrenaline going. Participants defied gravity and showed what they’re made of. Next up was the Fire Rail Session, a balancing act that required the highest level of skill. The Slope Style was the last part of the competition that featured different obstacles.
With the help of DARK DOG, and other sponsors the ski resort El Colorado spared neither trouble nor effort to make the 10th edition of “Rey del Park” one of the top events this winter season. To give the extra touch this year, the Big Air event was set for sunset to make the setting even more special. The scenery in the dark definitely added to the unique atmosphere.

To top it all off, a great event like this can’t be missing a great after party, featuring live music, DJs spinning it out on the turntables, and energizing refreshment by DARK DOG Energy Drink!
